What you can do about this problem is that you can give them free school on till they get a job or you can give them money

I disagree with you Brian because if they let them in for free,It will be against the law they might go to jail or maybe even principal as well.

Some issues that happen to homeless children are Bad grades in school, Get separated from family, constantly moving and many more horrible sad things. They may be constantly moving because in the article it says that the parents keep the children from the going to the shelter. If I was one of those kids I would feel sad for myself and would be crying my pour heart out .It must be sad to be as homeless as they must be.

The surroundings of child homelessness is that families get separated.Homeless shelters cannot separate family's boys that are under 10 -12.Once they become 13,they have to be separated, which is very tragic.Imagine being separated from your family at a young age and have to be alone from then on until you find someone willing to take care of you. Also homeless families are more likely to get sick and have a bad education.A way we could stop this is by letting homeless kids into our homes. If you ever see a homeless child, offer them to come in with you.

I agree Arlon, being separated from your family is terrible! Imagine you wake up in the morning thinking happy thoughts and the next thing you know you'll never see your family again. People like them deserve much more than they have right now.

I don't think letting others into your home when you don't know them is a good idea . It is a nice idea and is very generous of you but remember they are homeless and they can steel . I'm not trying to think negative of them but it is true. Other then that I agree with the idea of giving them permanent homes to live in, if that's what you meant by allowing them into your home. If not then I steel think it was a good idea.

The problems homeless kids have is that some are split up between their family and some may not find a place to live. What we can do is donate some money to them. And give them food or a place to live. Also try not to separate their families

The problem with the home less children is that they dont get to live with there family long enough with there parent and if there are a teen they have to seperate from there family. That will be hard for the teenagers in the shelter. We should donate money and help them more food then before because they don't get enough food per day. And most of the homeless boys and girls are sick.

The homeless kids are most likely homeless because their parents don't pay attention to them. One way we can stop this is make more homeless shelters and encourage parents to care for their children. If you give the teenage homeless kids money, they might just waste it on drugs, alcohol, or cigarettes.

I think child homelessness and adult homelessness is horrible. All people should be able to have a home, go to school, have a good amount of money and have human rights. I have seen many homeless people in the street and asking for help. Their treatment is terrible. Image being a Homeless guy in the middle of a rain storm with no shelter at all. Luckily most of these homeless children have an place to stay in. ALL people are created equal.

I think that the Government should put more money into child homelessness because this has become a difficult problem to solve. I think that the Government has ignored this problem, so now we need to solve it. I think that they should build more homeless shelters. I think the Government should take charge in tis problem.

Some issues that surround child homelessness are that some homeless people are hidden. They don't live out on the streets, or in homeless shelters. Instead, they may move from place to place or stay at a friends home. Another issue is that some homeless families are getting split up when they move into homeless shelters. Teenagers are usually left on their own. what can be done about this problem is that we can try to find as many homeless people as we can, and then put them in the shelters that get money from the government. We could also help the homeless make decisions, find jobs, and get educated.

Some big issues that surround homeless children are food. They can't get food b/c they don't have enough money. Another thing is some children are by themselves and are split up from the parents. They can't afford to get shelter either. They also don't know many things because they can't afford to go to school. There is ALOT of homeless children around the world. We are very lucky to have our parents, a shelter, food, and an education. So we need to help the homeless. Every Christmas your family can do this orginization called Operation Christmas Child. It is where you get a shoebox and pack things that a homeless child might need. What goes in the box is fun, but what comes out is eternal.

I think that the increasing of child homeliness is increasing because the government is focusing more on adult homeliness than kid homeliness. As said most homeless kids mostly stay at friends house's,24/7 restaurants and homeless stations.President Obama said that in 2010 they would start working on stopping homeliness and they are hoping to complete it in 2020.This I think may be wrong cause as I said in the first sentence is that the government is focusing too much on adults not children. The population of homeless children has increased by 30,000 to 60,000 homeless children that go to school.A step up is that in Utah and Connecticut are starting to buy houses for homeless children. For help we should be alert and give money to little children walking down the street by themselves.

One issue that surround child homelessness is that parents are separated. Fathers leave the mothers and the mothers have troubles raising their kids, so they become homeless. Along with the mothers being homeless, the kids are too. Another issue is that the government is not paying that much attention to children homelessness. Also that homeless people are hidden.

I agree. We have two major issues that don't seem to be getting solved. The government isn't paying enough attention, and that fathers get separated from their families so it makes a very tough parenting time for the mothers. Soon, she can't handle raising children AND making money, so, she looses her career and they end up on the streets, and living in hotels. There's also another problem. We need to prevent child homelessness quickly, before the kids grow up an have children, that have no place to live. this would just bring up the next generation of child homelessness

I think that one of the reasons that more and more children are becoming homeless is because of the adults. Either the adults are working too much to get more money that they need or the parents just don't pay attention to the child. Everyone knows that children need attention or bad things can happen like they can become dropouts or can start doing things that they are not supposed to be doing, like harming themselves in several ways. If children do not get attention they can start doing things like, drugs, or alcohol. Another reason why more children are becoming homeless is because the government is paying more attention to the homeless adults rather then the homeless children. Of course adults need to be taken care of too but what about the children? By this when the children grow up they will be scarred for life and end up being crazy and losing their minds. This is something we need to fix now! 2020 is in 5 years from now we need to help children now! This is very serious, if this does not get fixed more and more homeless children and adults will be here and that is not good. So we should all try to help. We need to decrease the population of homeless children, and adults!

Some of the issues that homeless children have is they don't have a home and, they are always having to go to hotels, restaurants etc for a place to sleep. What we can do to help these children is give/lend them money or offer them to go to a foster/orphanage.

One thing that surrounds child homelessness is the separated parents.Fathers could die or just want to get away from the family and leave the mother as a single mom.As it said in the story the mothers might not be very bright or educated wich makes it harder for the mother to find a job so the mom won't raise any money to pay for education for the kids . That leaves the family homeless

The article is kind of like How to Steal a Dog. I know that no one has read it exept my literature circle group so I won't spoil anything but it's true. Some proplems surrounding child homelessness are that children are hungry or have mental/physical health problems. some ways people can help are by donating things to shelters, my girl scout troop donated toiletries to the Elizabeth house.

Some major surroundings of homeless children are mainly their parents. When a perent turns away from a child or leaves them on the street, they cant take care of their own children. When I heard that about 60,000 children were home less in Ohio, is was completely shocked. The government has to fix something in this horable problem. They have to give these children at least a warm shelter to live in. Also, when you are homeless you don't have any money to buy supplies that a normal person would need. Such as food.

An issue that surrounds child homelessness is the record of homeless kids are growing and the governnment aren't taking it seriously enough. In the text, the author wrote, "Utah and Conneticut have a plan to fight homelessness. They also spend money on housing for homeless kids." Maybe, CA can do this, too! The school districts don't have enough money for the school and health services for the homeless kids. A solution is that people could donate money to the school by selling fund raising. People should help the unfortunate ones.

I think that mostly parents that are poor are most likely to be homeless that is the biggest reason. Or their parents got fired and can not pay rent or food. I think kids can also live on the street beacuse they ran away. They can live on the street also beacuse their parents died and no one in their family is helping them

I think that child homelessness should be stopped as soon as possible, especially before the child grows up. Because if it is not stopped, then the kids might grow up to have their own kids, and because they still grow up to be homeless, then they'd bring on the next generation of child homelessness!!! I think that a good way to prevent child homelessness from continuing might be to encourage the government to get involved with the situation and start paying a little bit of money to the shelters and the people in need of money for homes. We need the government's help or else nothing will change. Even with the shelters, they'll still be homeless because they don't have a house of their own. We're not going to get anywhere, if someone doesn't act soon.

One major issue in America is the increase in homeless children. This situation is getting worse and worse. The increase of how many homeless kids are shocking according to Patricia Nix-Hodes. She is the Chicago Coalition for the homeless. In the article it says that 60,000 school children went homeless in IIIinois last year. 60,000 !!!!!!! THAT'S AWFULL! I know that this is a dreadful thing because if I were to be homeless I would be scared out of my mind, I wouldn't evan have a roof over my head. I feel so BBBBBBAAAADDDDDDD for them. I mean think about it, wouldn't you be sad if you lost all your stuff, you got thrown out of your house and your out on the streets. At least usually the parents decide to ask a friend for some shelter and support. I really, really, really, really, really want homeless to go extinct. If I was rich I would go toward spending money on the homeless shelters and not on new clothing and houses. If I got a jeanie my wish would be to not let anyone go homeless. Let's destroy homelessness.

Some issues are that once children who are homeless and drop out of school, that may lead the child not being able to learn what kids should. That is one problem. We can solve this by giving more jobs to people who need them.

I think that some problems that surround child homelessness are lack of education, lone teens, and emotional problems, according to paragraphs 3 and 4. I think that a answer to emotional problems AND lack of education would be to make sure schools and after-school programs have free classes for homeless children. This ensures that homeless children get enough education and social interactions. An answer to lone teens would be to have all homeless shelter "not turn away families with children older than 10 or 12. Then, teens would not be left alone.

Some issues that homeless children are facing are not getting into school, some have no fathers, bad grades, and a whole lot of other stuff to. Something that can be done is to make bigger homeless shelters, for the Government to do SOMETHING ABOUT THE PROBLEM, and get money. There are probably millions of ways to help homeless children and adults. But these are some things that can help homeless people.

One of the issues is about the grades the homeless child gets at school. If their homeless they might get grades like 0,1 or 2. The way to fix this problem is to give some shelter or food and some drinks for them. Or we can help the homeless child to get good grades at school. For example, 3,4 or 4 and beyond or A and A+.
