This issue connects to my life because we in Los Angles have a DROUT to. What is connecting with my life is when my brother Jonathan said only to use 20% of water and i was like why. And this is the reason why a drout. And in our class we read a newspaper and it was about the drout. It said in palm spring is using a lot of water and it was a very big town. And it would hold a lot of water. And what connect to my life is that when my old school teacher said to use less water cause there was a drout but i didn't wanted to so i just got use to using less water. And the article is saying that the Governor there is not enough ice in the snowy place.

I agree, the whole using less water thing is all because of the drought. If we get more rain and snow, and we save water, maybe we will be able to get out of the drought.

This issue connects to my life because right now my family is trying to save up water. The only reason though is because California is having a big drought. my parents said that I should take less showers and take less baths because it wastes water. We even learned about in class and how people are trying to conserve water.

This issue connects with my life because I went to spend the night at my aunt's house a while ago, and she was talking about how if you use half as much water as you used to, you get 3,500 dollars. She also was talking about ( this might be a little gross) flushing the toilet less, meaning when you go number one, don't flush. When you go number two, flush. My mom and I are using less water now. We only drink milk and lemonade. No water. This is how we conserve water. Sometimes, I really am craving water. I'm tempted to drink it, but I don't because I know there is a drought.

I partially agree, Natasha. I think that yes, it does have to do with the CA drought, but I think this connects to our lives because the snowcap water goes to us. Us, as in, California. If there isn't much water from the snowpacks, we don't get much water. The melted snowpack usually makes up almost a third of California's water supply. By the way, lemonade has water.

This issue connects to my life because the water recruited from the snowpacks goes to US. Us, as in, California. If there isn't much water from the snowpacks, we don't get much water. Like the article says, "The melted snowpack usually makes up almost a third of California's water supply." So if the snowpack doesn't add to our water supply, we will only have two thirds of our water supply! The author puts it into words really well: "When the snowpack melts, some of the puddles soak down into the ground. Some of the melted snow flows into streams and rivers. The melted snowpack usually makes up almost a third of California's water supply. This year, there will only be a tiny amount." So once again, this issue connects to my life because the snowpack water goes to me.

This issue connects to my life because my family trying to use less water to help with our drought. The water restrictions will help with the drought if people follow It's rules. Also a lot of our water is from the snowpacks. If they disappear then we will have only two thirds of our original about of water. So we must all help with our California drought and we must all be mindful of it and connect this water problems to our lives and make it better.

I think this story relates to my life because we have things that produce our water. such as rain and in this story snow, if this item that produces the water does not come any more or ran out of water because of people using too much water. They are wasting water by watering their plants and grass, showers, leaks, running sink, and etc. They are not wasting water but they are at the same time. It is good because they achieve they are healthy, well-watered plants, but while you are at those standards, where are all the rest of us at?

I disagree Elena. Making water more expensive won`t solve anything, besides then people won`t be able to afford it. It is hard for the poor, and that would make it even harder. In the city of Baltimore, water prices have gone up 40% in the last couple of years. Now they plan to shut off 25000 homes' water, because people haven't been able to pay their bills.

The issue conects to my life because because I am trying to conserve water I always try to save water In different ways like not turning on the water while I brush my teeth. Or take shorter showers but for about five minutes but when I time myself it is sometimes fifteen minute! I also see a lot of places like departments that are trying to save water. Like the department of water in front of our school now they changed it too rocks that of course do not need water! They also put sand instead of grass. Another way the issue connects to my life is that we all need more water and snowpacks! That is why it is important to save water even if there is no drought we need to save water so nothing bad can happen. I am very glad that they made it a law or else people would use alot more water. It is a very bad experience but we all must try our best to save water!

That article connects to my life, because in CA right now, there's a drought. Also, my family are trying to use less water. Sometimes, we recycle it. After washing the clothes, we use that water and mop the floor. Sometimes when all the dishes are washed, we use it to water the plants. In the passage, it was written, "California needs a lots of snow so that people could use the water that snow becomes when it melts. " The author also wrote that there will be new rules. This change must be important, since in the text, the article was written, "California has never had water rules like these before. " In class, Mrs. Chenu was reading aloud to the students about the California drought in the newspaper.

This issue can connect to my life because we are in the middle of a drought. Gov. Jerry Brown made new rules about how we can save water. One was making water more expensive so they don't use it a lot. I do agree and think that Gov. Jerry Brown is doing the right thing to help us survive. Usually around April 1st the snow-pack is at its largest but now there is hardly any snow to see. I believe that we should follow his rules and take shorter showers, turn off the sink while brushing your teeth, and turning off the water when getting soap.

This article relates to my life because I am always hearing things about the drought. Once I was in the car with my dad and we were listening to the news. One station was talking about how the level of underground water was the lowest it had ever been. I think that people are using too much water on plants that need a lot of it. If people only grew succulents, then the drought would be less serious. I think that we should also remove the decorative grass and replace it with desert grass because it doesn't use a lot of water either.

I think that this issue connects to my life because on spring break my parents heard the news about Jerry Brown and told me. At first I didn't know what they were talking about, but at school my teacher told us that Jerry Brown cut our water by 25 percent. This article was similar to the newspaper article that we read in school. In this article one important statement that was said was " Melted snowpack makes up about 30% of CA water supply." Brown also made rules for places like golf courses, cemeteries to use less water. This could be a big or small problem for us as people so we have contain it or else in could result in a huge problem.

This is the issue to my life because I need to use less water in the shower because usually I shower for 3 or 4 minutes but right now I'm only using the shower for 1 or 2 minutes. This also affects the environment because of the warm weather and not enough rain. In the article it said that warm weather is melting the snow to make more water for us. But because of the warm weather there will be not enough snow in the winter and cooler days.

This issue connects with my life because my family is trying to use less water. I take a really long showers, and I waste a lot of water. I usually take a 20 minute shower. The other day my mom timed me when I took a shower. It took 15 minutes. At least it was 5 minutes less. I think the right amount of time to finish a shower is 5 minutes. A couple of minutes ago I washed the dishes. I was cleaning a salad bowl when my mom told me that was too much water. I dumped the water out and the sink was almost over flowed, and most of that water went to waste. Another connection I can make is on the news it talks about how you can't water your drive way and you must use less water when you wash your dishes, water your plants, etc. We need the snow pack, but now it is one of the lowest percentages that it has ever been and that is very scary.

I think that this article can connect to my life because California has a drought issue, but we haven't really made any rules to improve it. Finally the State has thought of some rules that will hopefully help with this situation. It's important to find ways to conserve the water that we use daily. In the text, it says, "Brown decided to make new rules about using water. California has never had water rules like these before. The state has to try something new because it is not getting enough rain." I can also connect this drought issue to my life when I read the rules that Brown suggested. One of them was not to water the grassy parts in the middle of traffic lanes, and the other was to make water cost more money so that people save it. I could connect the first rule to real life because grass usually grows on it's own, but on my way to school, sometimes I see people watering the already green grass areas between lanes, when they don't need to. This wastes a lot of water that we could be using for much more important things. I could connect the second rule to real life because some water is REALLY cheap. We can get 1 gallon of water for 1 quarter and because it's so cheap, we use up all of the water thinking that we can just get another gallon easily, but we're really just using too much water. If they make water more expensive, then we'll use it up more slowly so that we don't have to pay that same cost over and over again so quickly. In the text it says, "-asking workers not to water the grassy areas between traffic lanes." and "-making water more expensive so people don't waste it." I hope that people will start following these rules and that this drought will stop.

I walked outside and almost drowned in the heat. I was used to snowball fights all day and sledding with my friends. I was not used to the California weather yet. I'm still not really, I try to keep my hopes up with snow in Eagle Rock. Anyway, if it does snow in Eagle Rock then it'll be great for our environment, its hot, and dry all day, and it rarely rains. It would decrease the severity in our drought. "Other parts of Brown’s plan include:

This cause connects to my life because all of California has been in a really big drought for a really long time. This is a huge problem because everyone in California is in a really huge drought and people are using to much water. I don't think that people are making any helpful rules to improve our water problems. This drought can hurt a lot of people because they can be become dehydrated. Everyone needs water and now people know it is really valuable and the government is making people pay more money for water. Since parts of California is in a desert area so we really don't get a lot rain in California. The Control Board said that they are going to make snow into water when it melts. There is a problem with that it said California is not getting enough snow than it used to. You know that water machine near grocery shops it only needs a quarter to get a whole gallon of water it is super CHEAP! The government will maybe change that price.

The issue of the drought in California has resulted in tougher restrictions. The restrictions mentioned in the article that affect my life are limiting the watering of the lawn, using more efficient home appliances, and water agencies increasing prices, This issue connects to my life because at my house we have been trying to use less water. We take short showers rather than long baths. We do not water our lawn. We fill up the dishwasher with only full loads of dishes. We also fill up the clothes washing machine with full loads. When we have a leaky faucet, my dad fixes them right away. Our toilet and shower are water efficient. We are doing all this because we know that California has problems with getting enough water.
