My detail from this article is pollution from China to U.S. The bigger ideas in the article is that people in China makes too much pollution by factories and cars then the wind that heads to the Pacific Ocean blows the ozone will come here to the U.S., then the ozone will spread and the people will get a disease or they'll have early death. We have got to stop the ozone. Don't pollute too much!!!

A smaller idea in the paragraph is that cars and trucks are being driven. The small idea leads to a bigger idea.Pollution, pollution is a big thing that has happened since cars and internet was made.Nowadays in the 20'th century internet and gas cars people are into that stuff and cause pollution in factorys and from cars.China has the biggest amount of pollutin in the world.(I think)For example every day 60,000,000 tons of pollution is dumped in the water!(got it off of an info video)People in china should make there new years resolution stop polluting.(haha)People in china are really smart and do try to take care of there state/continent/city.It said says in the paragraph that in the beaches pollution is coming from Asia.

i would think that my detail from the article is, "its all connected... in the past, china did not worry the U.S too much.now people realize that smog in a faraway country could reach us."i think the detail helps me understand how there is a lot of pollution in the world and we should be aware.

"Ozone from Asia is blowing across the Pacific Ocean." from paragraph 5 (860L). This line is quite similiar to the title, but that just makes it more acurate. The quote above helps me to understand the main idea of the article because, if you break it down then you can see what it means, so let's. "Ozone" is a toxic gas in air pollution. "Asia" is a continent west of the US of A. "blowing across the Pacific ocean" means that ___( or in this case Ozone) is blowing across the Pacific ocean.

A detail from this article is the pollution coming in from Asia. This detail helps me understand that there is a mild problem that can be solved, but we would have to solve it now. Problems can grow and we need to avoid that. For this problem to be solved everyone has to take part in helping our ecosystem. I hope Asia realizes that this problem can be a big one.

A detail from the article is that some machines can cause pollution. A bigger idea is that it is not just coming from us its also coming from china because the wind is blowing to us and it has pollution. It is bad to breath dirty air it can go to your lungs and kill you. I also have horrible dreams about pollution and I try to keep the earth safe because its our home.

A small detail from the article is that "'People used to think Asian pollution would not affect us here,'' Faloona said. "They did not believe it could travel all the way across the Pacific Ocean. However, we’ve realized it’s all connected.'" The main idea is that scientists RECENTLY discovered that air from China is crossing the Pacific and polluting the U.S. This detail helps me understand the main idea because it explains that this is a recent discovery. Scientists did not know about this, therefore, people may have been affected already. This also helps me understand that, well, the pollution is reaching the U.S.

My detail is the pollution from China to the U.S Some other Ideas in this article is the smog, carbon monoxide, and greenhouse gas pollution coming from factories, cars, trains etc. Then these gasses are blown across the ocean and settling in the U.S the pollution can spread fast and infect many people who are vulnerable to the gasses. We must stop the spread of ozone! And don't pollute to much kids!

The detail that I choose is that there is pollution in the US. This helps me understand bigger ideas int he article because now I know that China is creating the smog along with other countries in Asia. I was reading about this topic, and did you know that the Chinese have to wear masks when they go outside? It is that bad. I think that the pollution is coming from their factories, because almost everything that you buy here says " MADE IN CHINA" on it.

I also chose 2 more details . They are : He says it is blowing across the Pacific Ocean from Asia , and ,Faloona has been measuring ozone pollution. These details also help me understand the article because Faloona like many scientists think the pollution is coming from Asia. Also ozone (which is a gas in smog ) pollution is and has been coming our way . This is very bad and we need this to STOP for our lives and earth's sake.

My detail is the pollution from China to U.S.A.This reminds me of the law that says SMOKING is not allowed. But the bad thing is people are doing it. So many people die each year because of smoking. This problem can be solved people know that once you smoke you can not stop. So if you see someones about to smoke for the first you should tell them to stop or else they will DIE!!!!

I agree with you [email protected] because you can die from smoking. But the law of no smoking is not a law everywhere. Also people smoking is only part of the polluted air problem, it's also factories that are busy, and cars, and trucks. These all let SSSSSSSSOOOOOOO much gas and fuel into the air.

Ozone is my detail that helped me understand the article better. "Ozone is the gas in smog" the article says. Smog is air pollution. Pollution can cause lung damage, heart disease, and early death. Ozone pollution is made by cars and factories. The ozone pollution is blowing across the Pacific Ocean from Asia and into California. Scientist Ian Faloona has been studying ozone that reaches California, and has been measuring ozone pollution. Scientists know what is happening. "They say pollution in China and other Asian countries is causing U.S. ozone levels to go up,'' says the scientists. "Factories in China are very busy these days. More and more people in China are driving cars. The result is increasing ozone pollution there." That is a paragraph from the text. The main, over all idea of this article is pollution coming into the U.S. from Asia. This is a huge deal. If we don't start helping our air quality, everyone, all of us, could get terribly sick, and it will be hard to breath. The other day I was in my car riding to my friends house, and I opened my window, it was SSSSSSOOOOO hard to breath, it was like I had stuffed my face in a plastic bag. If I got three wishes one of them would be "make the U.S. air quality clean and healthy."

The detail I'm choosing from the article is, "They say pollution in China and other Asian countries is causing U.S. ozone levels to go up." I chose this detail, because the main idea of this article is pretty much about the U.S. ozone levels are going up. The Asian countries' dirty air are blown to the U.S. which is creating pollution, too. Also, it was written in the article that now more and more Chinese people are driving cars. That could also create more bad air.

My detail from the article is how the western cities have a lot of ozone coming from them across the pacific ocean, China. It helps me understand how the western communities are getting a lot while the ones more deeper in California are not getting as much at all. IF this is hurting people and possibly killing people I think China should definately sign it because they are basicilly killing us.

I agree with you Alex, that this should be handled if it is killing people, but it's not only the people in China that are doing it. We are also causing the pollution, by using all of those gases and fuels.

I think the main idea of the article is that mainly the pollution is coming from China but the pollution in the air is caused from factories, and vehicles in China and here in California.Like it said in the article the pollution is also coming vehicles and factories in California . Vehicles make nasty smog which creates pollution in the air.The pollution looks like a "BIG BLACK CLOUD" surrounding Downtown La.The rise in OZONE levels was not supposed to happened . Pollution from cars and factories has been cut steeply across the U.S.

My detail is that the dirty air from China is coming. It helps me understand that the ooze levels are going up b/c the ooze is coming across from China. I think Asia should agree and stop the pollution to help us. I've been to China and I can create a connection b/c there are ALOT of buses and taxies in China.

My detail from the article is pollution from China to the U.S.. It is crazy that it only takes about a week for the pollution to flow over the Pacific Ocean, and to the U.S.. The people in China make too much pollution, and it just ends up over here. The pollution is not good for our lungs. We can get diseases or even have early death. Having pollution in your lungs is probably as bad as smoking. The point is that pollution is very bad. China is not only pollution themselves, but also the U.S..

In the article, it says, "scientists like Faloona say they believe they know what is going on. They say pollution in China and other Asian countries is causing US ozone levels to go up." This detail tells me that lots of scientists like Faloona think that the pollution is coming from China. China's use of cars, factories and gases has gone up over the years, and now some of that pollution has come into the US, and has caused the amount of pollution to rise.

Mya detail is Factories in Asia especifically China are running huge ozone rates. I think that our world she create so much ozone such a dirty air called smog. Smog polutes the air wich may become a horrible disease, sickness, or even cancer. So factories should become more efficient and we should have less factories so our world has cleane fair and we a wont so much polutes

My detail is Factories and cars in Asia are running lots of cars everyday and factories are working to much and making huge ozone rates everyday. I think the world is at harm if people keep this kind of ozone rate up everyday. Smog pollutes the air that we breath and then the air could become a disease, sickness, or maybe could cause death. China's usage of ozone is horrible and could cause lots to die there.Factories could start being more efficient and we should have less factories running at a time. China produces lots of materials and toys for kids.So China need to start taking less time and stop making lots of toys everyday and sometimes maybe could stop producing things.
